Leeds Running Festival 2024: Roundhay Park Half Marathon, 10k and 5k starting times and race day information

Leeds Running Festival is set to take place on Sunday, April 21, with runners taking on a chip-timed 5k, 10k or Half Marathon around the the picturesque Roundhay Park.

The event not only lets runners challenge themselves and their friends but also gives them the opportunity to support St. Gemma’s Hospice, which is one of the Festival’s main partners.

Leeds Running Festival start times and race pack collection times

The Leeds Running Festival 2024 will take place on Sunday, April 21, starting on Mansion Lane, in Roundhay, LS8 2HH, with the Half Marathon starting at 9am. 50 minutes later, at 9.50am, the 10k and 5k will take off.

Those taking on the Half Marathon can collect their race packs between 7.30am and 8.30am on the day, while the 10k and 5k runners can collect theirs between 8.20am and 9.20am.

Anyone who’ve entered the race prior to April 5 can expect to receive their race pack in the past before the day of the event.

Registration is still open and costs between £22 and £130 depending on group size and race. You can register for the Leeds Running Festival here.

What to expect on the day of the event

Runners and visitors alike can access Roundhay Park either via car - although it is advised that there is limited parking - or via bus 2 and 12 from Leeds city centre.

On arrival, race packs can be collected from the registration desks where runners will receive their number and timing chip. There will be hot drinks and snacks as well as portable toilets available at the event village.

A warm up will take place in the event village 15 minutes prior to the start of each race.

There will be marshals all around the course throughout all of the races. The Half Marathon is four laps with an out and back at the start, the 10k is two laps and the 5k is one lap around the course.

A water station will be available on each lap of the course, and runners are advised to bring their own water to stay hydrated in the lead up to the race. A water bottle will be waiting for runners at the finish line.
