Ilkley: Police looking for man after swastikas scratched onto car doors in racially aggravated incident

Police are looking for a man after swastikas were scratched onto the doors of 13 cars in Ilkley.

Incidents were reported on Riddings Road, Hawksworth Street and Cow Pastures Road on March 22, April 12 and April 15.

They saw the symbol scrawled onto vehicles in a series of attacks that are being treated by police as racially aggravated criminal damage offences.

Officers have released CCTV pictures of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incidents.

Inspector John Barker from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We are appealing for the identity of the male in this picture and anyone with information is asked to contact us.  

“Offences like this have a huge impact on the local community, my officers will be out providing reassurance to residents.”
